I have to start producing more content for my blog and flickr feed.
I’ve been engrossed in a few things, some professional (the end of spring term, the great summer intern hunt), some personal (handling family matters, including finances), and some writing, most notably the chapter for Networked, not to mention talks at MIT and at Harvard. But certain things have fallen behind. The network culture book hasn’t REALLY fallen behind, although the last update was a few months back, mainly since the above chapter is fodder for it. Still, the chapter is not going to be online until July due to the contract that I’ve signed with Turbulence, so it’s a weird situation.
Now blogging can be all-consuming in terms of time, but it can also be generative, so I hope to get back into that in earnest when the chapter concludes. And I have to start photographing again, a point made clear when I looked at Chase Jarvis’s slideshow of photos that he’s made with his iPhone. Even as the hunt for new technology continues to absorb many, its important to realize that the tools we have are at our disposal. It’s up for us how we use them.
